Managing Director
Jürgen Mortag has over 20 years of international experience in structured finance. As managing director he has set up and managed capital market financing vehicles for banks and insurance companies. In addition he has structured and advised on the structuring of Luxembourg-based funds.
His experience covers a wide range of assets, including trade receivables, personal loans, mortgage lending and loans, life insurance and project finance in the renewable energy sector.
Jürgen Mortag is responsible for structuring the GFRI fund – he is in charge of fund administration and manages contacts to institutional investors.
Director Risk Management
Horst Baumann has been working in the banking and asset management sector for nearly 35 years. For 20 years he advised high-net-worth private clients across Europe, specialising in securities and asset management products.
Thereafter he worked for 10 years as the managing director of institutional Luxembourg- based funds, where his responsibilities included asset management, fund structuring, transfer registration, central administration, finance and controlling.
Since 2009 he has advised funds and financing vehicles in Luxembourg as a director for alternative assets, including property, renewable energy, private equity and aircraft. His fund advisory work covers fund administration, asset management and compliance.
Horst Baumann is responsible for the risk management of the GFRI fund.
Operations Director
Dr. Thomas Köllermeier studied naval engineering and power plant engineering at the University of Armed Forces in Munich and completed a doctorate in business administration at IESE, Universidad de Navarra in Barcelona.
As a senior engineering officer in the Germany navy, Dr. Köllermeier was responsible for the operations and logistics of 11 naval vessels. In his subsequent work as a management consultant he has led post M&A integration projects across Europe in the defence, electrical engineering and chemical industries.
Dr. Köllermeier has worked in the energy sector since 1998, including as finance director of a German municipal utility and as general director for a European renewable energy company.
In 2002 he established DynaFinance Consulting Gmbh to develop, finance and operate renewable energy power plants. He has advised funds in Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the UK since 2008 and was a co-founder of GFRI in 2012. DynaFinance is the investment advisor to the fund.
Finance Director
Pier Paolo Urbinati, born in Urbino in 1962, graduated in Economics from the Luigi Bocconi University in Milan before becoming a certified public accountant.
Over the course of his career he has worked at audit firms, financial/ credit companies, service businesses (in the tourist sector for a leading international group) and industrial companies (with a well-known Italian leather goods group). His focus was mainly on financial, administrative and management functions, implementing business plans at a financial and company level.
He joined Gascom as Managing Director in 2010, taking over responsibility for Gascom and other companies in the Group. Considering the significant development of the renewable energies business, the shareholders decided in 2012 to support the further growth of its renewables business by partnering with institutional investors. Pier Paolo contributed to the incorporation of the GFRI Fund where he serves as a director, providing guidance and support.
